I do not think that this care provider should be allowed to use Care.com for concern that she will do this to another family. I interviewed six qualified candidates, all of which I turned down to offer the job to Cassandra. She committed to a set schedule of Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every Saturday. When I texted her to confirm her for Tuesday, January 15, she informed me that she didn't realize that she committed to another family for babysitting and asked if she could move her start date to January 19. She also texted that she was excited to start working with our family. I had made plans for Saturday evening with the understanding that Cassandra would be working with our family. This morning I texted her requesting her to bring a copy of her driver's license and auto insurance to which she replied that she had accepted another position. Now she has left me in a lurch since I have to cancel my plans for Saturday and establish a new search. Now this has added more stress as I am concerned about the screening process and reliability of future care providers after this experience. I sincerely hope Care.com will take steps to prevent this from happening again to any family.

Cassandra has been babysitting for our two children since the beginning of September, providing before school care for them in our home. She is wonderful! She is always on time, happily does whatever we ask, and is great about returning phone calls and text messages promptly. She makes breakfast and plays with our children every day--she even helps them review for spelling tests in the morning. Our kids love having her watch them!
