I'm a 22-year-old senior at UAB working toward a degree in psychology, and I hope to work with children when I graduate in December. I have years of experience with children. In high school, I worked at a day care with a class full of 5-year-old's. While in college, I worked at the same day care with toddlers ranging from 18 to 24 months old. Last year, I had a class of 4-year-old's at a different facility. I spent a summer as a Nanny to a family with four children, ranging from 3 years old to 12 years old, keeping them up to date with academics for the start of the school year and helping with some of the cooking and cleaning. Most recently, I've done some sporadic baby-sitting. I am also a volunteer at Camp Fire USA, where I have mentored at-risk children for the past three years, visiting them in school, playing social building games, and doing arts and crafts. I've made several lesson plans and have more than enough ideas to keep kids busy and active. Overall, I find that working with children is extremely fulfilling and enjoyable.
