Growing up, I was the ultimate babysitter and made a pretty good living at it from the time I was 8 (yes, 8!) years old.
Recently, I had the ultimate compliment from a 4-year-old boy. After the 1st hour of using play-doh to make cars and beards, he very seriously asked, "so, do you like babysitting?" and I said, "What do you think?" Smiling, he replied, "Yes!" I so enjoy seeing the quiet happiness of a child...

Recently, I had the ultimate compliment from a 4-year-old boy. After the 1st hour of using play-doh to make cars and beards, he very seriously asked, "so, do you like babysitting?" and I said, "What do you think?" Smiling, he replied, "Yes!" I so enjoy seeing the quiet happiness of a child who feels nurtured and accepted. It's a privilege to have the opportunity to impact another human in a positive, loving, fashion. I am energetic, creative, easy going, loving, patient, reliable, resourceful and eager. Having the opportunity to be a positive influence on another human being is a privilege. We simply want children to be prepared to join human kind as thoughtful, compassionate, productive and capable individuals. I (along with my husband, now deceased) raised our lovely 20-year-old daughter who had more than her share of obstacles to overcome. I am proud to say, I continue to see her growing up and making a loving and positive impact in the world. I believe all children deserve to be loved, dealt with patiently (which I've learned well) and encouraged to believe they do have control over their lives. As they allow themselves to be open to help, their lives can be transformed. I taught Sunday school for over 20 years to kindergarten and 1st grade as well as teenagers from 12-18. It is my joy to be with young people. My husband and I regularly had a slew of kids in our home, for swimming, board games, Karaoke and always the opportunity to listen to them and respond with words of encouragement. I held events for more than 100 kids at a time, in our home in Michigan. Most recently, I've given 'hospitality' on several occasions to 5-10 young people (at a time) for days and days. I'm a very happy and upbeat individual who has had their share of adversity and become the better because of it. Let's talk!
