I recently graduated Dowling College with my BA in Early Childhood Education. I completed my student teaching at an Elementary School in both 2nd grade and Kindergarten settings. For the past eight years I was a private childcare worker for a family with three children ages 8, 6 and 3. My responsibilities included maintaining a safe environment which nurtured self-esteem and utilized conflict resolution when necessary, preparing, serving and feeding meals to children and engaging the children in safe, fun and creative activities including outdoor play, coloring and playing games. This summer, I have been working at a summer camp as a group leader. My responsibilities include supervising and interacting with general counselors and their assigned groups, developing and participating in age appropriate activities for youth ages 6-7 including recreation, arts and crafts, and field trips, acting as a role model to maintain a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development and assisting with set up and clean up of all activities.
