I am currently a certified Special and General Education teacher. I have my Masters in Childhood Special Education. Since September of 2012, I have been a teacher's assistant where I have been trained in DIR Floor time. At the school the students are ages 4 years old - 21 years old, but in my specific classroom the students are 9 years old - 14 years old. I worked as an assistant teacher and one-to-one paraprofessional in a preschool for two years (ages 2 years old - 5 years old). I have experience teaching and caring for children with special needs and abilities. I was a camp counselor (2nd and 3rd grade girls) for 3 summers and have been babysitting (ages newborn - 14 years old) since I was 14 years old.
I spent many years caring for my two younger siblings. Because of this I became very responsible and nurturing at a young age. I am very family oriented and understand that it may be difficult to let a stranger care for the ones you love the most. I have so much experience with children from all walks of life and learn something new every day.
I love imaginative play and being creative. I love reading with children and exploring their specific interests. I like to play outside and go for walks. All children are different. I like to build relationships with the children I work with, figure out their interests and where they are developmentally so I can challenge them to grow and at the same time have fun!
