My name is Brittany. I am currently studying at UTSA earning my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education:Early Childhood-6th grade). I graduate next year. During my time there, I have had numerous opportunities to work with children from ages 3-11. Most of these opportunities were in a school setting. I taught lesson plans, played games with them, and made sure that they were supervised at all times. Aside from my college fieldwork experience, during the school year, I work for a curriculum-based after-school program- NISD Learning Tree. In this program I work with k-5th (mainly 3rd). I am responsible for up to 20 students at a time, as well as assist in the supervision of 85 students during outdoor activities. I teach lessons, help with homework, play games, and do activities with the children. This job is available to me during the school year, but the program is not active during the summer. Furthermore, I work with 4 & 5-year-old children for children's church. The tasks are basically the same as the after-school program. I love working with children, as it is my passion to become an Elementary school teacher.
