Brittany, worked for us part-time for little over a month. I came home early several times and found her mostly sitting around and talking or texting on her phone, but the reason I finally had to let her go was unreliability--she has called many times (sometimes on the same day and sometimes less than 30 min prior to her shift) stating she is babysitting someplace else and cannot come today. the last straw was when she did not show up at all and did not even bothered to call to let us know she is not coming. when I called her the next day to check on her, she stated that she "just forgot to call" as she was doing something else. I asked her for the references when we were considering her for the position, but she failed to produce any and I relied on care.com reviews --I do not want you to make the same mistake.

I scheduled an interview with Brittany for the day I needed care, as I had a last minute need. She arrived right when she said she would. She visited with the four children for about an hour. We all agreed we would hire her for the evening. So she returned later to care for four children, ages 5-14. I called home once to check on things. I actually wound up arriving home from my evening a bit earlier than planned, to find Brittany and all the kids playing a board game. It was fairly late, but I had given no rules about bedtimes. It was great to see all the kids happily engaged. Supper had been prepared and served, and cleaned up. Brittany did a wonderful job, especially given the age ranges. When I polled all the kids the next day, all were happy with her. Sometimes they can be very critical, so their comments were a good sign.
