Never let strangers around the child. Played and provide fun time, read to them.
Made sure they or I clean up the messes in the house (if child is old enough and it is their responsibility). Watched them while they play, maybe even play with them. Help them go potty/change diapers.
Kept them out of dangerous areas.
Gave baths and/or brush teeth.
Changed kid's clothes if dirty.
Solved any conflicts that may arise.
Kept kids occupied and out of trouble.
Maintained the house so it doesn't look destroyed when the parents come home (Basically control the mess).
