Being a nanny has been a big part of my life for many years. Throughout my life I have had numerous jobs caring for kids. A couple of years ago, I babysat for my neighbor's two little boys, as needed. Last summer, I went to Texas to nanny for my cousin's two children. I mostly took care of their 2-year-old boy keeping him active and occupied with activities all day. Keeping him safe and happy was always my main priority. Their daughter was only a few weeks old when I arrived, although I did watch her as needed as well. During fall semester this past year, I was a nanny for a 2-year-old boy named Akshan. When I first began caring for him, he was just learning how to talk, so I had to work with him on his letters as well as numbers. In order to keep him occupied, we would play different educational and active games, keeping him busy at all times. Recently I decided to volunteer at a preschool to help gain more experience in the teaching field. I knew after volunteering the whole summer that teaching is my passion. I am now pursuing a degree in early childhood education, in hopes to receive my degree and teach 2nd grade.
