I am a 25-year-old after school teacher for the non-profit program, Camp Fire Columbia. Over the last school year I have worked with a group of 15-30 kids who age from 1st grade to 6th grade. I work with the kids for several hours a day to provide enrichment activities, tutoring, and physical activity. I am highly flexible and adaptive and understand how to cater to the needs of different age levels at the same time. I believe strongly that positive behavior reinforcement is a highly effective behavioral management tool. In college I tutored ESL students at a local middle school, volunteered for group child care programs, and baby-sat for friends and family. Additionally, I am CPR/First Aid certified, I have a food handlers license, I have a clean background, and I have a valid drivers license and a reliable 2007 Toyota Prius.

I also believe that children should be treated with the highest respect and regard and therefore I am not someone who talks down to children. I speak Spanish fluently, as well as a little French and Mandarin. I treat every experience as a teaching opportunity and love to teach children: new languages, healthy eating, sustainability, and life skills.
