My name is Becca and I am currently a junior at UW-Stout where I am majoring in Human Development Family Studies, minoring in Child Psychology. I hope to have a career in the field of child therapy or counseling.

I have had multiple years working with a variety of children. This most recent summer I worked a 50 hour/week job nannying two girls. The girls and I enjoyed our days at the pool, inventing silly games, taking day trips to children 's museums, petting zoos, setting up play dates, and enjoying each other 's company! We also read books, practiced music and wrote stories. I learned a ton from these girls, as they did from me, just from being with each other all summer long!

The summer before this I worked with a 13-year-old boy with severe Autism and behavioral problems. He was unable to speak, but was highly intelligent, and would read and write and solve math problems. Our days would consist of writing out a schedule of what we were going to do for the day, which included studying (either math, spelling, reading, or counting money) and then follow in a reward of a puzzle or board game. He enjoyed going to parks and swimming and driving around town, so we would do those things also! It was a rewarding job to work with him, and I felt like he connected well with me.

The summer prior to this I part-time nannied four children, one with slight Autism and another with behavioral problems. We spent most of our time outside building in the sandbox, or we would go on walks to the park. We also made crafts and cooked together.

Before these summer nanny positions I spent about five or six years on and off caring for a family as they continued to have children! They started with one 6-week-old girl and now they have three kids, the oldest now 6 years old. It 's been great to watch them grow and develop throughout the years!

Overall, I enjoy working with kids and planning fun activities as well as fun learning experiences!
