I am currently a Kindergarten Teacher with the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Last year, I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to this degree, I also have a Bachelor of Arts in both English Writing and Communications. While pursuing my Master's degree I completed a year-long internship in a fifth-grade classroom. Earlier this year I was the nanny for two 8-year-old twins with a lot of energy and spunk! My time with them ended only because I was offered a full-time teaching position. Also, I worked for two years in a preschool working with children ages 3-5. Throughout my experience at Pitt, I also volunteered as a Big Sister once per week.

My experiences showcase that I have worked mainly with children ranging from ages 3-11. Given that I have worked in full-sized classrooms, I am equipped to manage a large number of children. Additionally, I am one of five children, so big families are both familiar and comforting to me.

In terms of Disney movies, I wouldn't give myself the title of Mary Poppins; however, I do believe I rather meet the standard of Wendy Darling. I say this because I am nurturing, caring, playful, can be strict (at times), and have even worked with my fair-share of "lost boys." Ultimately, this (possibly overdone) metaphor most accurately characterizes me as a childcare provider because at the end of the day, I really am just one of the kids--or at least that is what my students tell me.

I am currently available to work on the weekends and am hoping to find a full-time summer Nanny position.
