I am the mother of four grown children and grandmother of two, ages seven and six months who live in Europe. I worked with children in many capacities since graduating from Rivier College, Nashua, NH in 1974. I was a daycare worker for underprivileged children in Methuen, Ma, worked with children of migrant workers in Lake Placid, Florida, and worked for 18 years up until 2007, as a Residential Counselor at Riverview School, East Sandwich, Ma. My work there was with middle school age through post secondary level, with students with learning disabilities. I am an active 59-year-old woman, retired and missing being surrounded by children. Although experienced with all ages, I would enjoy the opportunity to care for very young children as young as newborn. I do understand as my daughter often tells me, "things have changed" where parenting is concerned compared to when I raised my children (late 70s/80s) and I have no difficulty adjusting my "old fashioned" ideas to meet the expectations of the parents.

As a retiree with an active life and an elderly mother who I visit frequently, I would prefer a part time commitment of not more than two consecutive weekdays. Now that I have the luxury of "spare" time I can't imagine a more enjoyable way to spend it.
