I also babysat children in my neighborhood for a while. I had the same duties that I did with my nieces.

I love kids so I volunteered at my church's summer camp as a Camp Counselor and my specific job was the Arts and Crafts and Bible Study Teacher. The age group was from Pre-k to 6th graders. I was in charge of the following:
Getting all the children in their right age classes, taking everyone to lunch, chaperoning the outside activities and mini-field trips, All of the arts and crafts activities, All bible study activities, and nap time for the younger children.


I also am experienced in taking care of children with special needs. My sister has Down's Syndrome and I have been exposed first hand and is very comfortable with a child with developmental needs. I am comfortable with all ages of children because I have worked with pretty much all ages.

I do not have any children but I do have a pet fish named "Duece". I am not fluent in Spanish but I can comprehend it very well.

My philosophy with care giving is that all homework and chores are to be done before any playing occurs. Also another part is that we have to do some active activity for at least 30 minutes if available. Exercise is very important for children today. I think sweets are OK, in moderation, just no junk food overloads are allowed. Respect is a big thing, whether it's from me to the kids or vice versa and expressing yourself is important.

I am a very creative and complete extrovert, so if we could doing something dealing with music or arts & crafts that would be amazing. I love creating different things and music is a big part of my life. I was in band, a percussionist for 5 years so literally I live for music. I love playing any games from the classics like connect four and Sorry, Bop It etc to the new ones of today. With the dogs, fetch or pulling their chew toy out of their mouths with them are favorites. Anything that is fun and creates laughter and smiles I'm all for it.

I also have no problem with taking care of an under the weather child, I'm not freaked out by it at all. I am pretty use to it being that I am a Nursing Major. I can also help with homework: Math, Science, Social Studies, and English etc.
