Hello, My name is Ashlyn. I am a senior at Liberty High School. I am a member of the Teaching and Learning Careers (TLC) Program at the school. I took Child Development as a sophomore and as well as a junior. In the course of Child Development I learned how the child grows in all forms. It taught me the different learning types of a child. I am an intern for Garin Elementary School in Brentwood. I intern for a second grade class. This is my third year interning at Garin. My first year I interned at a kindergarten classroom helping the kids learn to read small books, write out letters, etc. In my recent intern class for second grade I help the kids learn how to read and write. I assist the teacher in making copies, correcting papers, and testing the kids. I teach a lesson every month in front of the class on the subject that they are learning at that time. I have worked with special education kids of all ages (ages 7-21). I have worked with a large scale of disability kids and adults from learning disabilities to physical and mental disabilities. Kids and adults who are in wheelchairs or need attention at all times I have worked with. I have babysat all ages. I love working with kids. I see myself as a fun, outgoing, responsible person and every kid I have worked with loves to spend time with me as well as I love to spend time with them.
