In high school I watched a family friend's 2 girls, aged 5 and 6 occasionally on the weekends. After that someone referred me to a couple with 2 girls aged 2 and 4. I babysat them pretty frequently until the older of the two was almost 6 and I went to college. They liked to play with my hair and play outside on their trampoline or in the kiddie pool. The younger one had breathing problems, so I would administer treatment every night before her bedtime until it was discovered that she had a gluten allergy. Then I was responsible for getting her to eat her gluten free meals instead of what she was used to. During my sophomore year in college and into the summer I got new neighbors who had a 2-year-old son and a daughter on the way. Once their daughter was born, I was asked to take care of her for a few hours once or twice a week while their mother took her son to the gym or the library. Occasionally I watched both their son, who was 2, and their infant daughter for date nights.
