Since 3rd grade I knew that I wanted to be a teacher and work with children. When I was 11, I went through a babysitting course and immediately began babysitting children. Throughout high school, I volunteered with children in local elementary schools, as well as continued to babysit. I majored in Early Childhood Education in College, and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree and a license to teach Pre-K aged children to children in 6th grade. During the summers of years 2006-2010, I worked at a local in-home Child Care Center where I organized activities, monitored the children's behaviors, and brought the children to their swimming and tennis lessons. I enjoyed working at this center and greatly looked forward to my summer vacations when I could spend the time with the children I watched grow through the years before my eyes. During the school year after graduating college, I worked as a Kindergarten Teacher for two years and absolutely loved it! I was able to incorporate many subject areas into several units of study that encouraged student creativity and success. I am currently working part time at a new child care center, and am looking for something that offers a more consistent schedule.
