I come from a very diverse and experienced background working with children and teens. I have been babysitting for over eight years. Prior to my special education experience I was a part time nanny for a family with three boys all between the ages of 10 and 13 years old. I would do light housework, run errands, laundry, assist with homework and cook meals before hockey practices in the evenings.
I have experience working with children with autism, so I know how to be very creative and keep children entertained for long periods of time. I also am very therapeutic and work well with kids due to my special ed. background. I was a unit coordinator for a severe to profound dually diagnosed unit. I also have experience working one on one with a student diagnosed with cerebral palsy in the public school system and was an ABA Therapist at a private school. I have worked with special needs children and adults for over 5 years.
