Growing up, my grandmother did foster care. I used to spend a lot of time over her house helping her and that was when I realized that I wanted to work with children someday. I have experience in all ages in helping her. I also have many younger cousins in which I have cared for throughout their lives from the time they were infants until now. I have also babysat for a boy that has Fetal Alcohol syndrome, speech impediments, and learning disabilities who is now almost 15. I recently worked for 2 families, both for almost 2 years. One family has two boys who were 4 months and 2 years old when I started and are now 2 and 4. The other family is a girl who was 10 months when I started, now 2 and a half and a boy who was 6 when I started and now 8! He is autistic so I also have experience in dealing with that as well. I would still be working for both families, however, on Halloween I unexpectedly gave birth to my own son 10 weeks early and spent 2 months in the NIVU with him. He is now healthy and loves his 4-year-old brother. At the moment, I stay home taking care of the 2 of them so I'm open to bringing them with me (either 1 or both) if you want a playmate for your child or leave them with grammy or daddy which means I'm a little less flexible on days because I will have to work around their schedule. I love children and I am extremely organized so I love to tidy up and organize things. Also, I love to do laundry and help around the house. My senior year of high school, I received an award for my excellence in Early Childhood Education. In the course, I was responsible for being a teacher's assistant for a 2nd grade class for half of the year. The other half of the year I worked in the preschool with 4-year-olds and I was responsible for planning lessons, snack time, arts and crafts, music time, etc.
