I am the oldest out of four children. My mother was a single mom up until I was 14, so it was up to me to help take care of the younger three children. Being the oldest in a single parent home, you are responsible for helping with the housework such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, and helping with the younger kids. I would also take care of the neighborhood kids as well. During my high school years on the days I was not working, I volunteered at the local day care center. My duties there were to play with children and to make sure they stayed out of trouble. I truly enjoy children, playing with them, and teaching them lessons that help them grow into adults. I believe that you are only as old as you feel and children keep you young at heart.
