Growing up, I would always love going to work with my mom. My mom has worked with adults with special needs my whole life. She introduced me to a job five summers ago to be a teacher's assistant in a classroom for kids with special needs. I absolutely loved this job and it is now what I want to do when I am older. We would have to not only teach the kids and have them accomplish specific goals throughout the summer but we helped them interact with other children. I also have babysat for several different families including, a family with a 10-year-old boy with autism and who is also legally blind, another family with a daughter age 6 and a son with autism age 8. Aside from babysitting, I worked at a teen center for middle school children, which was a ton of fun. Also, I helped out with a ton of after school programs for kids in elementary school.
