Hi! My name is Annie sometimes I go by Annie the Nanny!

I started caring for children when I was 10 years old. I would babysit the neighbor's kids when the parents were next door having dinner or caring for the farm. Soon, I realized children were so much fun to be around and how much I loved watching and teaching them; nothing's changed! Every summer I babysat and I always had a few families that I watched for regularly. Then, I had the wonderful chance to go to the south of France after I graduated high school to nanny for a family. I become so close with the children and the parents; I'll never forget it! Since then, I've gone back to the same family and worked for them. Since 2004 to 2009, I was their nanny 3 times. In that time, their family grew from 2 boys to 3 boys and a girl, now ages 11, 10, 6, and 5. I've also been an assistant prekindergarten teacher, which was quite a learning experience.

I love children; they will always amaze me in everything that they do. Children are little explorers and I love watching and helping them thrive and learn and discover the world around them. In my years of being a nanny, I've learned a little French and some Sign Language. I love teaching kids little bits of both languages. I love watching how excited they get when they learn something new and then show their parents or peers what they were taught.

I'm not a nanny that pops the kids in front of the TV. I like to go for walks to the park if it's nice, or if it's raining stay inside and put on a play. But whatever activity we do, I will always engage the children. I'm all about laughing and having a good time; however, if a child misbehaves I can get pretty firm, but never mean. Mary Poppins is one of my favorite films, so I think I take a lot of ideas from her, if only I could jump through a chalk drawing.

I am currently a student at Washington State University Vancouver. I am going for a major in Psychology and a minor in Human Development. My goal is to be a grief therapist for young children to young adults after I've graduated. I've had some hard times in my life, one of which is the passing of my father at a young age. I feel I have this experience and compassion to help others, whether they have experienced something similar or not.

Hopefully, I could be that special addition to your family that makes running a house that much easier during these hectic times.
