As a youthful empty-nester with more than 30 years experience, I will be a dedicated member of your "village." I will engage in caring and nurturing your child (children) to become the best person he/she can become.
I raised several families. I have worked in school libraries, in children's theater companies, summer camps and as a baby sitter as well as nanny.
I am passionate about children and they relate to me.
The last family I worked for had three children. I was with the family from the time the baby was 5 weeks old. I put the three children on a workable schedule, potty trained the 2-year-old, built Lego's and made pirate ships with the 5-year-old, and sang and played with the infant. He still, at 3 years+ is passionate about music, something his parents have no predilection towards.
I believe that children learn by example. I aim to be one of those examples. I keep things neat, explain what I am doing on a child's level, engage them in the daily chores, when appropriate, keep them occupied or in quiet time as needed. I would rather reward a child for positive behavior, than reward them for the negative. I work on building good habits for self-care and home routines. I can make Halloween costumes, play dress-up, trains, board games, build sand castles, tell or read stories, be a comfort or problem solver, take the children out, pick them up from school, get them to lessons on time, cook, clean up and do light household chores as well. I am a non-smoker. I do not do drugs, no drama, have a clean driving record, and will pass a background check. I am a US citizen, and have fingerprints on file. Currently I am updating my infant/child CPR. I drive a 2000 Volvo 4 door sedan. I prefer to work in a non-smoking home, with a regular schedule, though I am willing to be flexible when necessary.
