At the age of 14 I started a babysitting career! I graduated high school in 1992, Parkland, Florida. That summer I went off to college to pursue a degree in Special Education, majoring in autism. While going to school, I applied for a job at the popular Tutor Time Learning Centers. I worked there for years and in just a few moved from working with the infants-Pre K's to a very proud position as Assistant Director. I have vast experience (hands on) and knowledge in working with ages 2 weeks to teenage years. I also ran the after school program. My duties included: were to drive the after care bus and pick up children at various schools (ensuring safety), plan activities for individuals and groups, field trips, homework time toward the end of our day, most importantly help these children have fun. Also look forward to after school care so as not to remind them it is crucial their parent/parents have to work. During this time I was also a Team Leader at a Preschool (Nova University one of the best schools in the country) for autistic children. I gained experience and such a true respect for the lowest "tier" functioning level in autistic children. In 1995 I earned an Early Childhood Development Certification through the ICS Accredited Learning Systems from Scranton Pennsylvania, graduating with a GPA of a 4.0
I invested time with charity involvement and love it! This involved multiple sclerosis (my twin sister was diagnosed with it in the year of 2007), March of Dimes, Revlon Run/Walk for Breast Cancer, feeding homeless families with children at a House in Miami that initiates food drives for the hungry.
My passion about what I do and what I have done is unlimited. My mission statement is to provide a safe and happy environment for each and EVERY child under my care and supervision. I have a passion to encourage skills that are crucial for a child's growth. I help develop fine and gross motor skill activity, teach healthy social behavior, for example by again encouraging sharing. I believe in appropriate discipline without humiliation, time alone works wonders as opposed to time out. Circle time, reading, singing, dancing, puzzles, painting, any activity to stimulate a child's growth. My passion also comes from knowing it takes very special qualified and caring individuals to take care of the needs of children of all ages, and to make sure their parents feel they are leaving their treasures in a safe, fun, loving environment.
