I have always loved being around children and began baby-sitting as soon as I was old enough. In 2000, I got a job working for a 24-hour nonprofit agency that specialized in caring for children age infants to 5 years old, with specialized medical needs. Though this was a challenging job, I enjoyed it immensely and stayed for five years becoming a shift supervising child care worker/ CNA. I also began working with teenagers with behavioral and mental health issues. Working with a different age group presented a whole new set of challenges and was just as rewarding as working with the younger children. Throughout the years as I have continued to gain experience in the medical field, I have continued to seek out opportunities to work with children because I find it is a true joy.
