I am a parent of four, and a grandmother of five. Caring for children has been my choice of profession since February 1980. I am passionate about promoting growth and development of the whole child, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. I received early childhood development education through Seattle Day Nursery Association in 1980, and 10 hours of continuing education yearly through Childcare Resources and Bellevue College. I currently am working with King County and Seattle Libraries to better understand and promote early literacy. In October 2005 I obtained certification as Nurse Assistant Registered in Washington State.
Teaching and caring for children is my choice of profession. I enjoy children, playing with them, talking with them, meeting their physical needs, providing the nurture and love they need. My joy is in watching each child grow and develop in positive ways and meeting his potential. My guidance and discipline is preventative, not punishing, shepherding their heart, not demanding their performance. Courtesy and respect for others and for property are values which I believe in and model to the children.
