I have 7+ years of experience with newborns, toddlers, early school age and multiple number of children.
I used to be a part of the program Cultural Care as an au pair (nanny) for 2 years taking care of 3 boys, 1, 2 and 4 years old.
During this time I lived with the family and worked five days a week doing things such as preparing meals and snacks, bathing, picking up/dropping off kids, helping with homework, teaching, reading and playing. I have also done light house work related to the children's needs, as well as taking them to the park, library, school and many activities outdoor and indoor. I have experience in potty training and bottle preparation too. I had a great time with my host family and I learned a lot.
Prior to being an au pair I worked as a teacher's assistant in Mexico for two years. I worked in kindergarten and elementary level. I was in charge of a class of around 15 children. Among the subjects that I taught for kindergartners were vocabulary, short phrases and songs.
During the past year, I've been working full-time with 2 families. I used to take care of a baby girl (5 mo old) for 8 months. In the other family I took care of a newborn (2 mo old). I really enjoyed and gained a lot of experience by watching these little girls; for example, nap schedule, bottle preparation, tummy time, transition from baby food to table food, etc.
Also, I've been working occasionally for other 2 families for a few months. Ive been taking care of a 1-year-old girl and 2 year old boy.
I like to be very interactive with children, play games, do crafts, story time, paint, make music and am very active outdoors and indoors. I love to take them to the park, library, play-dates and different activities and art projects to provide them with enriching experiences. I like to prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain a safe and healthy environment.
I have experience as a Spanish teacher. I believe children need an environment that supports development and stimulates learning.
