Hello! My name is Amy. I am looking for a new family to be a nanny for this summer. I have been babysitting for over 20 years. I am currently a substitute teacher for a school. I also work at a church in Puyallup in their nursery. I enjoy teaching but miss the more individual attention I can give kids when I nanny or tutor.

I have an almost 2-year-old daughter who would be with me.

I am willing to watch your children in your home or mine. I have many references, including five families that I currently sit for on a regular basis. I have worked with newborns up to 13-year-olds.

My rate is $10 an hour for a minimum 30 hours a week for up to 3 children and am willing to negotiate a flat fee. A nanny-share is another option. I am available early mornings and late evenings, 7 days a week. I live in Spanaway near the Central Pierce Fire & Rescue on 176th. I am willing to work in Spanaway, Puyallup, Lakeland, Orting, Tacoma, Sumner, etc.

I do light housework (laundry, dishes, etc.) and can run errands. I try not to overwhelm the children with too many activities in one day. I love taking children to the library for story time, get new books, and open new worlds. I plan age appropriate art projects for the children to do. Examples include writing and making their own books, making jewelry, and other fun crafts. Another one of my favorite is going to the park.


I prefer the fun approach when it comes to children. I am a firm but fun childcare provider. I prefer to use positive reinforcement with the children. I like making games out of chores. I like giving the children choices even though they are little ones. For example: brush your teeth now or after you get into your pj's. These little choices let the children feel like they have more control over their lives.
