While in high school I regularly babysat for a family with two boys. I took care of the oldest boy from the time he was two until he was six and the younger boy from the time he was born until he was three. I helped with the children's ministry at my home church working with children from infant to fifth grade. In college I babysat for a family with a little girl from the time she was born until I graduated and she was three. Once she started preschool I would pick her up from school and watch her until her parents got home.

I have limited experience caring for children with special needs. While in high school, I spent time with my school's speech language pathologist and special education teacher; gaining a little experience with the students on their case loads. Through my work with the church I have taught a couple of children with Cerebral Palsy. My current plan of study is communication sciences and disorders, so I am currently learning a little bit about working with learning disabilities.

My sister's family has an extremely restricted diet, so I do have experience with working with special dietary needs. My undergraduate degree is also in nutrition which is beneficial when dealing with special diets.

I have always genuinely enjoyed working with children. I am patient, crying does not easily annoy me, and I have been thrown up on before.
