I have worked with children of all ages in multiple capacities. I am currently teaching in a challenge program at the high school level. I work with children who are Downs, Autistic, Epileptic, Asthmatic and those with Sensory-Integration Issues, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Vision and/or Hearing Loss.

I am a Special Needs Teacher and a mother of two (now teens).

I have worked with children of all ages in multiple capacities. I am currently teaching in a challenge program at the high school level. I work with children who are Downs, Autistic, Epileptic, Asthmatic and those with Sensory-Integration Issues, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Vision and/or Hearing Loss.

I have been a nanny for 4 years for 2 children of Preschool/Elementary age. I have run a nursery, caring for up to 20 infants (birth to 2 years). I have also been a part of MOPPETS programs in 4 local churches and have provided occasional childcare for several families.

In addition, I have been actively involved in my children's Boy/Girl Scouting programs doing anything from conducting merit badge colleges to sponsoring camp-outs to leading fund-raising events.

I am current on my First Aid/CPR/AED training. I am fluent in American Sign Language and I possess a Master's degree in Deaf Education.

I love making a difference in the lives of children. I love to be a part of their learning experience and being a part of their discovery of new things. In a typical childcare situation, I enjoy doing things like designing play-doh "masterpieces", playing games, reading books, making craft projects, etc. Outdoor play is great too, especially with our usual sunny days. Trips to the local park, recreation centers, and libraries are common.

I am very attentive and keep TV watching to a minimum. I am a great multi-tasker and do my best to keep things tidy. I firmly believe in open and honest communication. I tend to be firm, but kind and respectful. I use re-direction as my primary means of handling difficult behaviors, but I have also used time-outs and reward systems.

I am available for after-school and evening care, as well as weekend shifts. I am smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free and I have my own transportation and a good driving record. I am very comfortable with pets.
