I grew up reading, building forts, riding bikes, doing crafts, learning to cook, and believe my creativity and life skills benefited from this. I'd like to help your children experience some of the same things I experienced and help them explore their interests, especially as they advance through elementary and middle school, as well as excel at their school work. I know every family is different and think it is important to learn family values and rules so that I can help maintain a consistent environment when parents are out of the house. I like to build relationships with families but at this time, I am not available for continuous care (such as full-time nanny positions), but I am happy to do the occasional overnight or weekend, depending on the age of the children, and also, supervising children and encouraging their interests, I'm happy to provide transportation for children and errands, light housekeeping, and cooking. I grew up like most teenagers baby-sitting for neighborhood families. During summers especially, I took longer and more regular baby-sitting jobs and then moved to supervising and teaching at day camps and ski school. For the past five years, I've primarily worked with children, between ages 7 and 18 years old, through my work with mentoring local robotics teams and have taken children on extended out-of-state trips. I have experience with children with ADD, ADHD, and other special needs but expect additional time with parents to find out how the family handles these challenges.
