During the Summers, I work as a Teacher's Aide at an infant/toddler daycare center. I work with children from ages 3 months to 3 years old. I give them their bottles, help them eat their lunches, change their diapers or help them in the potty, play with them and put them down for nap time. I read them stories and help them with their activities, whether it be coloring with crayons or painting a big picture with their hands. I also have experience with school aged children since I worked as a Teacher's Aide in a preschool classroom at the UConn Child Development Laboratories. The children there were ages three to five. I also babysat for a local family in Storrs for a semester, with two 6-year-old boys and one 9-year-old girl. Along with the children at my work, I have two little cousins who live next door to me. They are nine and 2 years old. Some days I will go over to their house so their parents can have some time to themselves. I am certified in CPR. I love kids and my career goal is to become a Speech/Language Pathologist so I can help children who have speech/comprehension difficulties.
