I have been a professional nanny for the past five years, in both the D.C. and L.A. areas. In this capacity I provided a safe, happy and enriching environment for the children under my care. My role required me to facilitate and orchestrate the children's' day from the moment they woke until the moment they fell asleep. This included but was not limited to, helping them get ready for the day, preparing meals, assisting with homework, and providing educational yet equally fun and engaging activities.

As a nanny I used my background in psychology and education along with my teaching experience to help the children grow and become independent from a young age. The older children would help with preparing meals and putting their belongings away while the younger children would help set the table or organize their toys. I gave the children freedom to choose what types of activities they wanted to do but always made sure to provide them with guidance to choose something constructive, such as reading or puzzles versus video games.
