The best experience I received for caring for children was for my younger siblings. I was almost 11 when my mother had her second child, and I was 13 when she had her third. I was always at my mom's side helping her care for each one. I learned at a very young age how to care for a child and continued learning as I went through high school. I grew up in a very well mannered home, so the way we were all raised was very respectable. I worked in a pre-k through 8th grade private school. I was an assistant teacher in training for teaching with the 3 to 5-year-olds. This was by far my favorite job I have ever had. I looked forward to going to work every day! I also did an internship at my church for 3 months and during that time I worked in a 2-year-old class every week with 23 children. I was an assistant teacher in that class, as well as training to be a teacher. After my internship was over, I continued to teach in the same class. I also worked some in the 3 to 5-year-old classes on the weekends as well. I am in the process of getting qualified to be a Certified Nurses Assistant. My future goal is to be a pediatric nurse. I would love to work as a nanny for these next few years as I pursue this career.
