I graduated in 2006 from high school with a concentration in child care. Upon graduation I received my teaching certificate that qualifies me by the Department of Early Education and Care. The internship I participated in was at a daycare center. There I worked with all of the classrooms from infants to prekindergarten. I enjoyed the infant room the most because I was able to begin teaching useful skills at such an early stage of development. I stayed with this company through college and left in late 2008. Since then I've worked at another center which works with children with maladaptive behaviors and trauma in a therapeutic setting. The use of physical management, limit setting, discipline, and therapeutic programs was the focus of care. Many of the children suffered from some form of abuse at the hands of their caregivers. I was with this company for a little over a year before I entered into the mental health field. I am currently employed at a company which focuses on Applied Behavioral Analysis as its method of care. Here I am a residential teacher where my role is to tend to the needs of autistic students aged 10-21. Caring for them can be challenging at times because of the behaviors and limited cognitive abilities, however it is rewarding nonetheless.

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 2010. I am currently undergoing my Masters in Criminal Justice as well.
