In my two years experience as a live-in nanny, I have provided childcare service for a family of three children ages 3, 6, and 10. As part of my duties, I woke and dressed children and saw the older two off to school. I prepared meals for the children, provided daycare for the youngest child and established a regime of educational and recreational activities as well as assisted with any homework. I performed light housekeeping duties as needed. This included helping with the daily care of the family's two dogs.

*I currently am working full-time in an early childhood educational center as a lead teacher for children ages infant through toddler. I also attend college on a part-time basis and am working towards a degree in education. I have experience working with and caring for children with cognitive disabilities and emotional disorders.

*I have worked as a caregiver in a number of different capacities for the past six years.
*I currently work with a number of families on short term basis. One family has two boys ages 11 and 8. The older boy has severe developmental delays and the younger is diagnosed with autism. Another family has a boy age 16 months with restrictive dietary needs. I also work with a family that has adopted two special needs 12-year-old boys. One has experienced severe trauma and is diagnosed with PTSD and ADHD and the other was adopted from Russia and has been diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder.
*Along with being a nanny, I have sat for children ranging in ages from newborn through 14.
*I enjoy a wide variety of pets. My family has three dogs, and number of fish and assorted other small animals.
*I volunteer as a mentor and sitter for Hephzibah Children's Association in Oak Park. I have a bond with this agency as my siblings and I were given foster care and adopted through this organization. I work every summer with this agency's camp that reunites siblings separated by the child welfare system.
*I believe in staying engaged with the children in my care. I can best provide a nurturing and educational atmosphere by developing a relationship of respect and understanding with each child. I believe that each child is unique and deserves individual attention and direction.
