I love my job. I believe that there is nothing more rewarding than caring for a child and helping them see what an exciting place the world is. I think that my primary responsibility as a caregiver is to foster a sense of curiosity and wonder about the world, something that can not really be done in front of a TV screen.

I have been working with children for 7 years now. I have gained valuable experience in that time period. I have worked with siblings, with breast fed kids, with formula fed kids, with cloth diapers, and disposable. I have worked with a child with developmental delays and another child with severe anxiety. I guess you could say that I have had a pretty good mix of challenges!

I feel comfortable with kids of all ages, but 6 weeks to 5 years is the age group that I have the most experience with. This is such an exciting age group to work with! I have a background check done, feel free to ask for permission to see it, if I haven't already given you access. I also have been certified in CPR and first aid for infants and children. I am in the process of getting my clearances and will have that posted soon. I am a non smoker and I have a clean driving record as well.

My idea of a perfect day working with kids would start with silly songs and dancing. I always hope for sunny days because I would rather spend the late morning outside, going for a walk, playing tag, or just investigating the sand box. After that, there would be a nutritious lunch consisting of at least 3 food groups. After lunch is a great time for some imaginative play, whether it be princess dolls or a toy train set! I love to read to kids, so naturally there would be story time before nap time. At the end of the day, we would try to squeeze in some arts and craft projects before mom and dad get home from work.
