I've worked with children for several years, in various settings. My experience includes: caring for children between the ages of 2 yrs through 17 yrs at a children's shelter, substitute teacher's aide for grades preschool through 8th grade, care taker for the 1 yr old classroom at Tutor Time, and I currently work as a probation officer/case worker at a juvenile detention camp since 2006; ages range from 13-18 yrs. My experience has offered me the opportunity to work with children of all ages, and children with a variety of needs. Most of my experience has been with children with special needs and behavioral issues. Along with my natural ability to care for, and relate to children's needs, my extensive experience has provided me with a set of skills that parents and children can appreciate in a childcare worker. These skills include, but are not limited to: being trustworthy, compassionate, patient, very attentive, caring/big heart, sensitive, fair but firm, authoritative, creative & fun!
