I am a recent graduate of West Virginia University, moving back to Lewisburg, WV in May. I studied biology and am considering returning to school to become a certified teacher. I really enjoy being active (playing sports, riding horses, etc.) and creative. I like to draw, knit, sing, and cook. I love working with kids, and I've been able to teach, counsel, and interact with children for the past 5-6 years as an older camper and counselor with Summers Co. 4-H. I also volunteered with Energy Express, a summer reading program for elementary school age children, last summer where I participated in one-on-one reading, group reading, outdoor recreation, and creative projects with the kids. I have also worked as a lifeguard in the past, which required a lot of interaction, supervision, and instruction of safe behavior with families and many younger children. Overall, I'm a very positive, friendly person. Whether it's playing a game like Scrabble or soccer, or teaching a child about different plants and animals, I love interacting with children especially if I'm able to engage them mentally.
