I started babysitting when I was only 14 years old because ever since I could remember, I wanted to take care of little people. I would babysit my little brothers, my little cousins, and lots of other children around the neighborhood. After I graduated from high school, I started college part-time and I got my first nanny job. I was overjoyed! I instantly became attached to my first two little babies and I will never forget them. After that nanny experience, I knew that I had to continue working as a nanny. I am a genuinely nurturing person and I cannot help it. I love caring for children and they absolutely love me. I worked with a YMCA organization for awhile caring for children from ages 4-12 and I absolutely loved that job. It made me realize what I already knew in my heart: I would be a great teacher. Despite this realization, I continued taking college courses to be an RN. For a year and a half I went to college for nursing and worked part-time. Once I landed my third nanny job, which consisted of a lot of tutoring, I had an epiphany. When I am working with children and stimulating their minds, it does not feel like I'm working. "I can do this all day," I thought. So I followed my heart and changed my major to teacher education. I graduated from college in May 2012 as a honor student with an English Education degree and a minor in History (grades 6-12). I have collaboratively and independently taught in elementary, middle, and high-school classrooms (as a student teacher). However, my expertise does not end there as I have stayed up on countless of nights taking care of restless newborns and toddlers. So Moms and Dads, I am your go-to nanny if you need a helping hand or someone to (fully) take on all of your responsibilities, while you are busy working or going to school!
