I have been babysitting for approximately 8 years. I first started assisting my elderly neighbor care for two 3-year-old boys and then her newborn granddaughter for several summers starting when I was 14. I would even care for my neighbor's adopted daughter since she was 2 years old. I have since cared for other kids in my neighborhood. I love working with kids and people in general and did an internship my senior year of college in a classroom with elementary age children with multiple disabilities and handicaps. I assisted with anything from feeding and multiple therapies may it be speech/language, physical, and occupational, even swimming in their indoor pool to help strengthen muscles and reflex. At that time I also did an internship with a nursery school for a month. I worked with a class of 2-3-year-olds and fell in love. I have since been called back to work their summer camp and to even take on a 'Fours' class when a teacher was called to Albany for her student teaching. I currently work for a company and teach science to after school programs throughout Westchester. Through this job I have had to be finger printed and background checked to work in these various schools and can give you a copy of my clearance from New York State.
