I have had extensive experience caring for kids in a variety of different atmospheres. In high school, I worked for a family with three young children, all under the age of 9, caring for the children on a weekly basis while their parents were at work or had other obligations. My duties included picking the kids up from school, taking them to after-school activities, homework help, and when applicable, preparing meals.
I also have experience as a camp counselor, where I worked every summer during college. My roles included supervising camper groups ranging from three up to 14 in daily activities including rock wall, swim, arts and crafts and sports. However, my primary role was the Head Horse Instructor of the camp. I was in charge of creating riding programs that included leading trail rides of up to six children at a time, general equestrian education, as well as instructing private lessons.
For the last two years, I have been a nanny for a family with two boys ages 7 and 9. My role includes supervision of the children, planning fun activities, preparing meals when necessary, and general care giving.
