I started babysitting two little girls for a Scottsdale family a few years ago. They were around the ages of 5 and 8 when I started, and at first it was just a few hours whenever I was needed. The summer of 2010 was when I started working for them more often. Monday-Thursday I would show up at around 8 in the morning while their mother was going to school, and stay with them until 4, sometimes 6, depending on what day it was. I'd play games with them, bring crafts, and go swimming with them each day (when their parents allowed it). What they seemed to like the most was when I would bring cookbooks to try out fun, kid-friendly recipes with them for lunch.

Because of my classes at SCC and ASU, I could not work as often during the school year for them but would still occasionally be asked to babysit or pick them up from school throughout the year. In the summer of 2011, I was invited on a trip to Rocky Point, Mexico to babysit with the same family. While the parents would go out with friends, I would stay in the apartment with the two girls or take them out to the beach to play in the sand or water. Since then, the girls have gotten old enough to take care of themselves home alone.

I'm currently preparing to start my student teaching during the spring semester, but would love to continue babysitting while doing so. I love working with children and I have experience working with children between the ages of 14 months-high school students.
