Hi Families! I began my babysitting career in high school, watching children ages 2-11. I love kids, and am excited to support their interests, whether they be athletics, baking, arts and crafts, science projects, or whatever creative games they dream up. I have the most experience working with troubled adolescents, age 13-20, gained from working as a Wilderness Therapy Guide for at-risk youth from May 2010-May 2011. While guiding, I taught students to find peace in the outdoors, aided students with schoolwork and organization, and counseled students through therapeutic work surrounding substance abuse, ADHD, NLD, anxiety, depression, body image, self-harm, self-esteem, defiance, and adoption. The program I worked for followed an allied-based model, teaching staff to support students in an unbiased and calm manor regardless of the situation. I was amazed at the efficacy of this model. Once students felt respected and safe from judgment, they began to open up and progress. The open, structured environment we provided was often the key to students' successes.
