My name is Adrianna. I attended I.U. Bloomington as an undergrad and graduate student. I have a Master's in Early Childhood Education and Special Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. During my course of study and practical experience in the classroom, I have developed an early childhood philosophy that is pertinent to infants and toddlers. I believe that the classroom environment should reflect the teacher's encouragement, parental input, inclusion of familial culture, and acceptance of mistakes, risk-taking, innovation, and uniqueness, along with a certain amount of mess, noise, and freedom.

I am heavily influenced by Dr. Emmi Pikler, Magda Gerber, and a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to early childhood education. They treated babies, toddlers and older children with respect and as capable active individuals, and provided safe environments in which they were able to move freely, environments with just the right amount of challenge. Their message to parents and child care professionals was to recognize infants as competent self-initiators of their own development within the context of at least one secure and authentic relationship.
