My name is Victoria and I'm a Christian ministry major, working on my senior year at Regent University. I hope to be a full-time youth pastor once I finish school. I currently nanny for a wonderful family with seven kids (ages 6 through 15), three afternoons each week. I have been with them for over a year now. Through Care. com, I'm hoping to possibly find some part-time work on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, as well as some occasional work on the weekends. I'm originally from the Philadelphia area. Before coming to Regent, I baby-sat in my neighborhood, extensively for an infant and occasionally for a few families with toddlers. I also spent a school year working in a local public school. I was on staff in the before- and after-school program. During this year, I spent a good amount of time working with a 6-year-old autistic little boy and a 7-year-old girl with cerebral palsy. (I have mild cerebral palsy, so I relate especially well with special needs children). My faith in Christ is the very foundation of my life. I aim to share the love of Jesus through my lifestyle. I believe that children need consistency in order to feel secure. I am big on encouragement. I set reasonable and age-appropriate expectations for the children I work with.
I am not just a "baby sitter" and I refuse to sit in front of the television all day. I truly love to invest in the kids I am around.
