Hello, my name is Lindsay. I have been a baby sitter/nanny for a decent amount of time now. I am 24 years of age, and I am going to school to become a nurse. But, I am waiting until 2009 fall to finish up my nursing courses due to moving to Virginia Beach in the beginning of October. I have been working with kids since I was 11 years old as a mother's helper and started as a baby sitter at 13 years of age. I have had steady nanny jobs and have stayed overnight at houses and did the whole parent thing for some families so they were able to travel, etc. I can cook well, have a clean driving record, and I am trained in CPR and First Aid from infants to adults. I know a little sign language but speak English. I do like to have fun with the children and take them out so I really like to get to know what your kids' interest are so they have an enjoyable time in what they are doing. I also like to educate children in little things from helping them learn how to talk/walk to helping them with school work if necessary or even doing little made up Jeopardy games for fun. I love to take kids to playgrounds, movie theaters, to parks, on walks, to the ocean, or pool. Just an FYI, I have been swimming since I was 2 years old and was trained until I was 13 years old. I have taught many kids to swim and conquer their fear of water in my own backyard in PA. I am a strong swimmer and I can watch many kids in the pool at one time and have done it. I do follow the main pool rules such as: no running, and diving in shallow waters, etc. I am not the type to sit and lay around with your child. I will do anything from movies to running around in the backyard and going out if allowed by the parents. I do like to surprise the child/children every once in a while and do a fun day and take them out of the house all day and do some of their favorite activities such as the off-site playgrounds, the mall, movies, and sports fields. I like to change it up for the child/children. It helps with boredom and positive motivation. I like to get up and get them moving so they are nice and tired for you at night and go to bed well.
