Joanna W. - Virginia Beach Babysitter

Profile of Joanna W.

Part-Time, 5 Years of Experience

I am currently employed as a nanny part-time for twin babies. I only work one to two days a week and would like to be a "as needed/on-call" or part-time sitter/nanny. (VERY IMPORTANT: If you need on-call care for the very next day, please text me directly as I never get the messages from here until the following day when it is too late to respond!) I am a 46-year-old mother who lost her daughter six years ago in a car accident at the age of 18. I love being around children and spend time volunteering as an advocate in the Virgina Beach court system for abused and neglected children.(CASA) I have spent time volunteering for infants in a long-term care hospital for special needs and severely sick children. I desire to work with a family in helping them raise their children rather like a grandmother. I am very flexible and would love to share outings, games, and fun with your children. I am especially interested in working with newborns and infants. I am originally from the United Kingdom, but have lived here for over 24 years. I am intelligent, patient, nurturing, creative and fun loving and believe in exposing children to varied educational and fun experiences. I want to be more than just a child care provider, more a part of the family. I want to be a constant care giver for a child so they do not need to be shuttled from provider to provider. I have tons of patience, love and nurturing to provide. I am hoping to care for one or two babies/toddlers at my home or yours. That means there will be complete time and undivided attention to spend on them rather than with a whole strew of children to contend with. I will shower them with love and stimulating experiences to help them grow. I have had many background checks done even very recently as part of my previous financial employment and for the city of Virginia beach volunteer requirements. Although I don't have professional "paid" child care references, I can provide high recommendations from previous non-child care employers. I am infant/child CPR and First Aid certified. I also attend seminars and classes on an ongoing basis regarding infant/toddler care and development to enrich my understanding and skills and to stay current. My rate would be between $10 to $15 per hour depending on circumstances. I am also willing to negotiate a day/weekly rate. I am very pet friendly and willing to negotiate additional household responsibilities such as cleaning, laundry and groceries, etc. I believe you will be hard pressed to find a more loving and attentive care giver for your child. If this sounds like something you would be interested in pursuing I look forward to speaking with you soon and wish all the best for you and your family. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope to hear from you soon!
