I am a recent graduate from the master's in counseling psychology program at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I love working with children and have been a baby sitter since I was 12. My degree includes an emphasis in drama therapy, which is an expressive arts therapy and informs my work with children in therapeutic settings as well as in daily care. I encourage children's creative capacities while attuning to their needs for limit-setting, support and safety.
In my work as an assistant teacher in SF Kids Preschool Experience, I worked with a diverse group of children ages 18 months to 4 years. This experience enabled me to hone my skills in working with children who are dealing with strong emotions, aggressiveness and struggling to learn age appropriate social skills. It also solidified my interest in and enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents as a therapist and nanny after graduating. I'm passionate about working with children because I deeply believe in the importance of supporting their development at all stages in levels as they grow into adulthood. I am inspired by how much a child can make for themselves out of a nurturing, supportive resource when it is offered, particularly by a trusted adult/role model.
