I have been a child care worker for private families, and also professionally, at Fremont Presbyterian Church in Sacramento. I have volunteer experience as a camp counselor for ages eight to fourteen and have experience working with groups of children from age 0-14. I spent two summers as a Children's Ministry Intern at this same church, which has provided formal training and experience for how to work with children. I believe that early childhood is a valuable time of life because children are so impressionable. Caring for children takes great love, energy and patience. I am a psychology major and have studied the developmental stages of childhood in classes such as Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Processes and Developmental Psychopathology. Childcare requires intentional meaningful interaction with children with the purpose of developing them emotionally, physically, mentally and socially. I am excited about the opportunity to work with children and build meaningful relationships with them in order promote healthy development.
